Learn Dutch at SNT

Stedelijke Nijverheids- en Taalleergangen (SNT), is a Dutch language school and foreign language school in Brugge / Bruges, Flanders, Belgium. From September till June we offer a full range of courses of Nederlands voor anderstaligen - i.e. Dutch for foreign speakers - for adults and young adults from 16 onwards who want to learn Dutch in day or evening classes. 12-16-year-olds can take Dutch courses at SNT under certain conditions as well.
If Dutch is not your mother tongue and you do like to learn it fast and cheap, then our Dutch language training is the very thing you need. In the Dutch (= Flemish) speaking part of Belgium knowledge of Dutch is more and more a prerequisite to get social housing, social benefits or a job. In no time SNT will teach you to understand, read, speak and write Dutch for everyday situations, to start higher education or to increase your job opportunities in the labour market considerably. Did you know that an SNT B2 certificate Dutch (= level 8, Vantage) is proof of the required Dutch knowledge to enter all higher education programmes at any Flemish university or Flemish Hogeschool (university college). For your information: the average SNT student Dutch already finishes level 5 within 10 months.
You can learn Dutch at our centres in Bruges or Blankenberge. We offer Dutch courses for beginners and advanced learners. We follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and the courses are classified accordingly to the levels A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1.
If you have never followed Dutch classes for foreign speakers before you should first report to the Huis van het Nederlands (House of Dutch), Baron Ruzettelaan 27-29, 8310 Brugge (Assebroek, 0032(0)478/804452. In consultation with you you will be advised on the correct curriculum. You can then report to the SNT office for registration with their recommendation. Should you have followed a course yet or should you already know quite some Dutch, you can take a free level test at our centre. Our teachers will refer you to the appropriate level. Enrolment fees: maximum 75 € per level for the regular and extended curriculum, 51 € per level for the abridged curriculum, course material included. Ask for our many reductions and exemptions.

Why study Dutch at SNT?

• Great value for your money. At SNT you only pay the minimum fee. Free speech therapy and remedial classes if necessary.
• Quality teaching. All of our Dutch language teachers are fully-qualified, experienced and native-speaking. Our speech therapist sets up tailor made programmes of speech exercises
• Friendly atmosphere. Personal service, fun classes – nearly everyone who takes a course at SNT comments on the great atmosphere in the school. Moreover you can attend theatre and film performances, didactic school trips, social gatherings…
• Great location. In the very centre of Brugge, at walking distance from the railway station Brugge and the car park Katelijne. The teaching centre of Blankenberge is at a 10 minute walk from the railway station Blankenberge. There are many bus and tram connections and there are sufficient parking facilities.
• Wide range of courses. We offer general language courses in German, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Flemish sign language. There is a course in French for foreign speakers as well. Apart from language courses we offer sewing, informatics, cookery, photography and business management classes.
